Create vendor in NetSuite

One approved packet. One clean vendor record.

Book a Demo

The problem

Approved once. Typed in again by hand.

A new vendor clears onboarding with a signed packet, then AP keys the same details into NetSuite: legal name, payment terms, banking details, and tax classification.

One transposed digit in a bank account sends a payment to the wrong place. A wrong tax classification shows up at year end. And nobody can say which packet the record came from.

The outcome

Vendor data enters once, from the approved source

Stepwork creates the vendor in NetSuite with the details from the approved onboarding packet. The run records who asked, which packet it used, and every field it entered.

  • The request names the approved packet the details come from.
  • A vendor that already exists stops the run.
  • The Slack reply names the new vendor record.

The process

From approved packet to a NetSuite vendor

AP posts the approved onboarding packet in Slack. Stepwork creates the vendor in NetSuite, in the same order every time.

  1. Step 1

    Request it in Slack

An AP teammate posts the approved onboarding packet in the finance channel. That message starts the flow, and Stepwork records who asked and when.

  2. Step 2

    Check for an existing vendor

Stepwork signs in to NetSuite and searches vendors for the legal name. If a match already exists, the run stops instead of creating a duplicate.

  3. Step 3

    Create the vendor

Stepwork enters the legal name, payment terms, banking details, and tax classification from the packet, the same fields AP fills in by hand.

  4. Step 4

    Confirm and reply in Slack

Stepwork checks the saved vendor against the packet, then posts the result back in Slack.

Why Stepwork

The packet is the source, not a retyped copy

A deterministic agent runs the vendor setup path you recorded in NetSuite. Every field comes from the approved packet, so the record matches what was signed off.

FAQ

Common questions

  • Post the approved onboarding packet in Slack. Stepwork checks for an existing vendor, creates the record with the packet’s details, and confirms it saved.
  • No. Your team approves the vendor through your normal onboarding. Stepwork only enters an approved packet, and the run stops if a required field is missing.
  • Yes, as a separate flow. Creating a purchase order from an approved request uses the vendor once it is in NetSuite.
