The problem
The credit was promised. The account still shows nothing.
An escalation ends with a goodwill credit, and the adjustment queues behind the one person with Stripe admin access. The customer was told it is done. It is not.
When it finally lands, the note on the account rarely says who approved it or why. The next billing question starts with a search through old threads.
The outcome
Goodwill credits land the same day
Stepwork applies the approved credit or coupon to the customer’s Stripe account and adds an internal note that references the approval. The run records who asked and what was applied.
- The request names the customer, the approved credit, and the approval.
- A customer that does not match the request stops the run.
- Every credit carries a note that references the approval.
The process
From approved request to a credited account
Billing posts the approved credit in Slack. Stepwork applies it in the Stripe Dashboard, in the same order every time.
- Step 1
Request it in Slack
A teammate posts the approved credit: the customer, the amount or coupon, and the approval reference. That message starts the flow, and Stepwork records who asked and when.
- Step 2
Find the customer
Stepwork signs in to the Stripe Dashboard and opens the customer by email or ID. If there is no match, or more than one, the run stops.
- Step 3
Apply the credit
Stepwork applies the approved credit or coupon and adds an internal note that references the approval.
- Step 4
Confirm and reply in Slack
Stepwork checks the credit and note on the account, then posts the result back in Slack.
Why Stepwork
Every credit carries its approval
A deterministic agent runs the credit path you recorded in Stripe. It applies what your team approved and writes the approval into the note, so the next billing question has an answer.
