Remove Asana member

One Slack request. Access ends. Projects keep owners.

Book a Demo

The problem

They left. Their Asana seat is still open.

Departed employees often stay in the Asana org for weeks. Private projects sit under their name, and teammates cannot see work that still needs an owner.

Cleanup waits on whoever remembers to open admin settings. By then, access and ownership are both out of date.

The outcome

Project access ends. Work is handed off.

Stepwork removes the member from the Asana organization and reassigns their private projects. Access ends promptly, and the run records who asked. For open work still on shared projects, use Reassign open Asana tasks from departed employee.

Reassign open Asana tasks from departed employee
  • The member is removed from the organization.
  • Private projects are reassigned.
  • If the member cannot be found, the run stops.

The process

From Slack request to an Asana member removed

A teammate posts the request in Slack. Stepwork removes the member and reassigns private projects.

  1. Step 1

    Request it in Slack

A teammate posts the departing employee’s work email and who should receive their private projects. That message starts the flow, and Stepwork records who asked and when.

  2. Step 2

    Find the member

Stepwork signs in to Asana admin and locates the member. If nobody matches, the run stops.

  3. Step 3

    Remove and reassign

Stepwork removes the member from the organization and reassigns their private projects to the named successor.

  4. Step 4

    Confirm and reply in Slack

Stepwork checks that the member is gone and projects moved, then posts the result back in Slack.

Why Stepwork

Asana stays on the offboarding path
