Invite Asana member

One Slack request. Department teams on day one.

The problem

New hires wait on team-by-team invites.

Team leads invite new members by hand and add them to each Asana team one click at a time. Someone always gets left out of a team until they ask in Slack.

Two people in the same department rarely land in the same set of teams on day one.

The outcome

Department work visible on day one

Stepwork invites the member and adds them to the named department teams from the request. They see their team’s work immediately, and the run records who asked and which teams were added. When they leave later, Remove member from Asana ends their seat.

Remove member from Asana
  • The invite uses the email from the request.
  • Each named department team is included.
  • If a team cannot be found, the run stops on that step.

The process

From Slack request to Asana team membership

A teammate posts the new hire and their teams in Slack. Stepwork invites them and adds the teams.

  1. Step 1

    Request it in Slack

A teammate posts the new hire’s email and the Asana teams they need. That message starts the flow, and Stepwork records who asked and when.

  2. Step 2

    Invite the member

Stepwork signs in to Asana and sends the organization invite for the email in the request.

  3. Step 3

    Add department teams

Stepwork adds the member to each named team, the same memberships an admin or team lead sets by hand.

  4. Step 4

    Confirm and reply in Slack

Stepwork checks that the invite and team adds are saved, then posts the result back in Slack.
