Remove member in Notion

One Slack request. Internal docs closed to them.

Book a Demo

The problem

They left. They can still open the wiki.

Notion often sits outside SSO, so offboarding checklists miss it. A former employee keeps a seat and can still open internal docs until someone remembers to remove them.

That cleanup is easy to postpone. Every day it waits is another day of company knowledge within reach of someone who no longer works there.

The outcome

Internal docs stop being readable by former employees

Stepwork removes the member from the Notion workspace and frees the seat. Access ends with the request as one step of employee offboarding, and the run records who asked and when.

Employee offboarding
  • The member is removed from the workspace.
  • Their seat is freed.
  • If the email matches nobody, the run stops.

The process

From Slack request to a removed Notion member

A teammate posts the request in Slack. Stepwork removes the member in Notion workspace settings, in the same order every time.

  1. Step 1

    Request it in Slack

A teammate posts the departing employee’s work email in the offboarding channel. That message starts the flow, and Stepwork records who asked and when.

    Step 1Request it in Slack

  2. Step 2

    Find the member

Stepwork signs in to Notion, opens workspace settings, and locates the member. If nobody matches, or more than one does, the run stops.

    Step 2Find the member

  3. Step 3

    Remove the member

Stepwork removes them from the workspace, the same change an admin makes by hand. The seat is freed.

    Step 3Remove the member

  4. Step 4

    Confirm and reply in Slack

Stepwork checks that the member is gone, then posts the result back in Slack with a timestamp.

Why Stepwork

Notion is on the offboarding path

A deterministic agent runs the removal you recorded in Notion settings. It does not wait on whoever owns the wiki that week, so access ends with the rest of employee offboarding.
