Remove member in Figma

One Slack request. Design files closed to them.

The problem

They left. They can still open the files.

Figma often sits outside the identity provider, so offboarding misses it. A former designer keeps org access until someone remembers the admin console.

Drafts and team files stay reachable in that gap. Every day it waits is another day of design work within reach of someone who no longer works there.

The outcome

Design files stop being reachable by former employees

Stepwork removes the member from the Figma organization and frees their seat. Access ends with the request as one step of employee offboarding, and the run records who asked and when.

Employee offboarding
  • The member is removed from the organization.
  • Their seat is freed.
  • If the email matches nobody, the run stops.

The process

From Slack request to a removed Figma member

A teammate posts the request in Slack. Stepwork removes the member in Figma admin, in the same order every time.

  1. Step 1

    Request it in Slack

A teammate posts the departing employee’s work email in the offboarding channel. That message starts the flow, and Stepwork records who asked and when.

    Step 1Request it in Slack

  2. Step 2

    Find the member

Stepwork signs in to Figma admin and locates the member. If nobody matches, or more than one does, the run stops.

    Step 2Find the member

  3. Step 3

    Remove them from the org

Stepwork removes the member from the organization, the same change an admin makes by hand. The seat is freed.

Step 3Remove them from the org

  4. Step 4

    Confirm and reply in Slack

Stepwork checks that the member is gone, then posts the result back in Slack with a timestamp.

Why Stepwork

Figma is on the offboarding path

A deterministic agent runs the removal you recorded in Figma admin. It does not wait on whoever owns design tooling that week.
