Transfer Figma drafts on offboard

One Slack request. Design work stays with the team.

The problem

The designer left. The drafts left with them.

Work in progress often lives in a designer’s drafts, not in a team project. When they leave and the account is removed, those files are hard to recover.

Managers find out when a launch needs a half-finished frame that nobody else can open. Moving drafts by hand is slow, and it is easy to miss files before the seat is gone.

The outcome

Design assets survive designer departures

Stepwork moves the departing member’s draft files into the team projects named in the request. The work stays with the team, and the run records who asked and how many files moved.

  • Draft files move into the named team projects.
  • The Slack reply says how many files moved.
  • If a project in the request does not exist, the run stops.

The process

From Slack request to drafts in team projects

A teammate posts the handover in Slack. Stepwork moves the drafts in Figma before the account is removed.

  1. Step 1

    Request it in Slack

A teammate posts the departing member’s email and the destination team projects in the offboarding channel. Stepwork records who asked and when.

Why Stepwork

Drafts move before the seat is gone

Stepwork runs the transfer path you recorded before removal. Design work lands in team projects first, so offboarding does not strand half-finished files.
