Invite Dropbox member

One Slack request. Team folders on day one.

Book a Demo

The problem

Day one waits on folder-by-folder access.

New hires need the shared folders their team already uses. IT invites them, then clicks through each folder by hand, often missing one until someone asks in Slack.

Access depends on whoever remembers the folder list that week. Two people in the same role rarely get the same set on day one.

The outcome

Team files on day one

Stepwork invites the member and grants access to the named team folders from the request. They can open what their role needs, and the run records who asked and which folders were added. When that person later leaves, Suspend member in Dropbox ends their access.

  • The invite uses the email from the request.
  • Each named team folder is included.
  • If a folder cannot be found, the run stops on that step.

The process

From Slack request to Dropbox team folders

A teammate posts the new hire and their team folders in Slack. Stepwork invites them and grants the folders.

  1. Step 1

    Request it in Slack

A teammate posts the new hire’s email and the team folders they need. That message starts the flow, and Stepwork records who asked and when.

  2. Step 2

    Invite the member

Stepwork signs in to Dropbox admin and sends the invite for the email in the request.

  3. Step 3

    Grant team folders

Stepwork adds the member to each named shared folder, the same grants an admin makes by hand.

  4. Step 4

    Confirm and reply in Slack

Stepwork checks that the invite and folder grants are saved, then posts the result back in Slack.

Why Stepwork

The folder set stays consistent

Stepwork runs the invite path you recorded. New hires get the same team folders without a folder-by-folder chase.

FAQ

Common questions

  • Post their email and the folder names in Slack. Stepwork sends the invite, grants each folder, and confirms both steps.
  • No. Suspending a member is a separate Dropbox flow.

  • The run stops on that folder and records the reason. It does not skip silently.
